Our Facilities

Cape Town Flying Club offers professional training in a relaxed but safe environment.
Main Operations Center
The reception & accounts area is manned by Beverley Combrink and Hilda Kallis, who will assist new & old visitors with club admin, bookings & payments. We also have a small shop offering pilot essentials like maps, checklists, textbooks etc. and a library where members may take out aviation related books.
The office also offers a courier service to and from the SACAA in Midrand for all your licensing & other administrative needs.

The main area of the clubhouse is full of all the things you need before and after a flight like weather information, NOTAMs, AIPs, headsets, flight folios, club notices etc. New visitors will of course be walked through the process by an instructor. Access to the clubhouse, headsets & aircraft keys is controlled by electronic tags issued to club members.
Kitchen & Bar

Members & visitors have access to a small kitchen area for that all important cup of coffee or tea. The bar is open for special functions and the club has DSTV, a pool table and cooldrink vending machine that are always available.
Lecture Room
The lecture room is used for many purposes, including the teaching of PPL, Commercial & ATPL ground school, CRM and dangerous goods training and any other courses offered from time to time by CTFC.
Examination Center
Cape Town Flying Club has a CAA-approved online examination center for the taking of PPL and Instructor exams.
Briefing Rooms
Each instructor has a briefing room where students get private tuition and debriefing on each training flight undertaken.
Simulator Room
The simulator room contains our Elite Simulator for instrument training purposes.
Apron

Home to our beloved aircraft, the apron is where it all gets exciting. Aircraft taxi in and out all day long and a refueling truck makes frequent visits. Make sure you're comfortable with the rules of the apron before visiting, or go with someone who knows what to look our for.
